I remember all kinds of things like this back in the 1970's in Mother Earth News and the like. When energy/gas is too cheap it seems we don't care and such things are forgotten.....until the next 'crisis' .

I am hoping to cryo treat my complete tranny when I rebuild it next. Hoping that will help with the mileage.

Well, I have not done it yet. However, the complete top end of my engine is now being treated.
In a word, Friction. Cryoing parts show reduced friction. Might not be enough to make any difference to the mileage. I have no idea. But I hope to try it. Main force for me is to have it last longer and take the HP/torque the car will be producing.

Problem with any automatic is the power used to RUN it.
A stick shift I can see this helping.
